Supplementary Exam Applications
Students who have completed the maximum duration at the end of the Spring semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year will be able to benefit from the right to take additional exams if they apply through the OBS system between 09-13 September 2024 .
(Only students who have completed the 14th semester at the end of the Spring semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year will benefit from the additional exam application. If other students apply, the additional exam application will be deleted from the system and no feedback will be given.)

With the decision of our University Senate, students were given the right to two additional exams to cover the Fall semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year. Since there are students with and without practice courses among these students, the process was left to the authority of the department head within the framework of the principles stated below between the start date of the Fall semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year and the last day of the Fall semester make-up exams.

Matters Regarding Supplementary Exams
· Students who will benefit from the additional exam right must apply for the further exam and pay the tuition fee between the dates specified in the academic calendar for the Fall semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year in which they will benefit from the additional exam right. · Students will be given the right to take two additional exams for all theoretical courses they failed in their education plan for graduation ( courses they never took, took and failed with F0, FF, FD, DD grades ) , covering the Fall semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year after the semester in which they completed the maximum study period.
· For all applied courses that the students have failed in their education plan for graduation, such as application, laboratory, project, studio, workshop, sketch, design, field, seminar, graduation project, compulsory internship, etc., a minimum of 4-week application program will be prepared by the relevant Department Heads in the Fall semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year. Then they will be given the right to take two additional exams within the semester.
· Students who only have an internship remaining in their education plan or who want to benefit from additional exam rights due to failed courses together with the internship will be able to complete their internship work during the additional exam period by paying the contribution fee/tuition fee of the relevant semester. Compulsory internship procedures with applied course status will be carried out in accordance with the provisions of the " YTU Internship Directive ".
· The Four-Semester Extra Time Right of students who did not use their Additional Exam Right (whose number of failed courses is at most five) will start as of the Fall semester of the 2024-2025 Academic Year. These students will be able to register for classes via OBS by paying the tuition fee until October 11, 2024.
· If students complete the course(s) they are required to take in the elective group, they do not need to take additional exams for the courses they have taken from the relevant group. Students who have taken additional courses from the same elective pool will need to apply to the Department Head they are registered to with a petition requesting the deletion of these courses.
· Students who have completed the maximum education period will be given the right to take additional exams from conditionally successful courses with a DC grade in their education plan, if they request so. Students in this situation must also apply through the system to increase their grades.
· Students who have completed the maximum period are exempt from the grade point average requirement and/or prerequisite limitations determined by the Senate for course selection during additional exams and additional periods.
· For students who will benefit from additional exams and additional time rights by completing their maximum study period, the provision in paragraph (b) of article 22 of the "Yıldız Technical University Associate and Undergraduate Education-Training Regulation" stating that "In order for a student to receive a graduation thesis, he/she must pass a number of courses that will cover at least 75% of the total credits in the curriculum and his/her CGPA must be at least 2.00" will not be applied.
· The make-up programs and additional exams for applied courses that are not among the courses to be held online by faculties will be made according to the calendar to be announced in April and announced later, depending on the decisions to be taken by the Council of Higher Education. There will be no make-up exams for make-up applied courses and additional exams. Students must apply to use their right to take additional exams by paying the contribution fee for the relevant semester on the announced dates. Students who do not apply on the announced dates or who do not take the exam despite applying are deemed to have waived these rights and are declared unsuccessful.
