YILDIZ TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY
PRINCIPLES REGARDING THE GRADUATION EXAM
(Adopted in the Senate decision dated 07.02.2013 and numbered 2013/03-26)

1.    Fulfilling the requirements for taking the relevant course's final exam is obligatory for the graduation exam. Students who cannot take the graduation exams are not given the right to take a make-up exam for this exam.
2.    For students with a maximum of two courses left before graduation, a graduation exam is held for their failed courses (except for courses such as Vocational Education in Enterprises, Internship, and Graduation Study, etc.) to be held on the dates specified in the academic calendar. Students who cannot graduate because their GPA is not 2.00 can take the graduation exam from a maximum of two conditionally successful courses of their choice. (Amended by the Senate decision dated 19.12.2023/12-04.)
3.    In order to be successful in the graduation exam, it is mandatory to get at least a CC grade. The grade obtained in the exam replaces the success grade of that course. Midterm and semester studies are not included in the evaluation.
4.    DC and lower grades obtained in the graduation exam will not be taken into account. Therefore, the student's grade in the relevant course will remain the grade before taking the graduation exam.
5.    Students who have a course they have never taken before or who have an F0 grade from any course, even if they have taken it, cannot take the graduation exam from any course.
6.    After the applications are received, the applications of the students whose applications do not comply with the Graduation Exam Principles will not be evaluated and if they take the exam by mistake, the exam results will be deemed invalid.
7.    Students with a weighted grade point average (CGPA) of 2.00 and above can only take the exam from their failed courses.
8.    Students with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) below 2.00 can take the exam from the conditionally successful courses of their choice. Since a student can take the exam from a maximum of 2 courses, the sum of the failed courses, if any, and the conditionally successful courses to be chosen cannot exceed 2. To register for the exam of a conditionally successful course, the student must first register for the failed course, if any.
9.    Students who have not chosen a course for the semester in which the graduation exam will be taken but will benefit from the graduation exam are required to pay the tuition fee for the semester in which they will take the exam. (Added by Senate decision 16.04.2015/01-06)
