Undergraduate students whose GPA has been below 2.0 for two consecutive semesters (starting from the 5th semester) cannot take courses from their current semester or higher semesters. These students may take courses from lower semesters that they previously failed, as well as courses from lower semesters that they have not yet taken.

What is course substitution, and how does it work?

Course substitution involves taking a different course in place of a previously taken elective course, thereby having the new course count in place of the previously taken one. You can complete this process through the OBS system during course registration. If the course substitution is not processed through the system, all courses will be included in your GPA.

How many credits do I need to graduate?

To graduate, you must complete all the courses in your program of study. A total of 155 credits is required.

What is the minimum grade required for a course for which I am requesting an exemption?

For courses taken at other institutions of higher education for which an exemption is requested to be considered equivalent and for that course to be granted an exemption, the grade must be at least CC (at least 2.00 on a 4.00 scale); for courses previously taken at our university to be considered equivalent and for the course to be granted an exemption, the grade must be DC (at least 1.50 on a 4.00 scale).

What is a leave of absence, and how does it work?

A student may be granted a leave of absence based on a decision by the relevant administrative board and for valid and legitimate reasons specified by the Higher Education Council. A student on leave of absence cannot continue their studies and cannot take the end-of-semester exams during the exam period following the semester in which they were on leave. Students wishing to take a leave of absence (on leave) during their undergraduate studies must submit their applications to the Department Chairs where they are enrolled.

Does the period during which I put my enrollment on hold count toward my total study period?

For students granted leave of absence due to unforeseeable reasons such as illness, childbirth, natural disasters, detention, imprisonment, or military service, the courses in which they are enrolled are dropped and do not count toward their period of study. For students granted a leave of absence for financial reasons or other reasons approved by the relevant administrative board, the period of the leave is counted toward their period of study.

What is the maximum duration for which I can freeze my enrollment?

A student may be granted a total of up to four semesters of leave during their period of study. However, if the circumstances justifying the leave continue, the leave may be extended for an additional two semesters with the decision of the relevant administrative board and the approval of the University Administrative Board.

Do I have to pay tuition fees?

Students (Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Graduate) who exceed the program duration are required to pay the student contribution fee for each semester in the first cycle of study.
